'Walking' in a winter wonderland.....

Well, we have now had a weeks worth of proper winter weather - the worst snow since 1991 in the South East of the UK. This means I have done very little cycling apart from a single session on a bike in the gym. Still, there is plenty of time! I'm also thinking of commuting all the way into Canary Wharf via the Lea Valley. Its a mainly traffic free route - certainly not direct. At 45 miles it would be a 6am start but by late March, if the weather is ok, then it will be a great way of putting the miles in. Click here to take a look.

The weather for the next few days is pretty grim, so I think it is more likely I'll be using the gym bikes again next week!

Launch of blog!

The idea behind this blog was to try to keep everyone up to date with our progress during the ride. However, we've expanded upon that somewhat to also include the training runs we will be doing. Given that neither of us have ever cycled that kind of distance in 4 days, we will need to prepare so that hopefully the ride itself goes well and we don't run out of steam during the Breacon Beacons.

There are 85 days to go....plenty of time to get into shape!
